Overview

What Wabi is, its concepts and every way to drive it.

Wabi runs your WhatsApp Business Account on Meta's Cloud API. It hosts the webhooks Meta sends, keeps every conversation in a live team inbox, localizes templates and tracks their approval, runs AI support agents with traces, and estimates usage and Meta costs. You bring your own WhatsApp Business Account; until you connect one, every organization has a sandbox number that behaves like Meta.

Concepts

  • Organization: your company in Wabi. Holds members and teams, WhatsApp accounts, contacts, templates, agents, API keys, the plan and its usage.
  • WhatsApp account: a WhatsApp Business Account (WABA) you connected, with its phone numbers. The sandbox is one too, simulated.
  • Conversation: one customer and one of your numbers, with its turn state (who is waiting for whom), its assignee and the customer's 24-hour service window.
  • Contact: one customer profile with attributes, language, consent records and opt-outs. Segments are rule-based groups of contacts.
  • Template group: one logical template with a localization per language. Each localization is submitted to Meta and approved or rejected on its own.
  • Agent: an AI support agent with instructions, knowledge sources, tools and an escalation policy. Every run is a session with a trace.
  • Op: one action with a name and an input schema, such as get_sandbox or simulate_inbound_message. The dashboard, the REST API, the MCP server and the CLI all call the same ops.
  • Event: something that happened, such as message.received or conversation.escalated. Your systems subscribe to events with customer webhooks.

Ways to use it

Everything in the dashboard is available programmatically. Pick the surface that fits; they behave identically.

  • REST: POST https://getwabi.dev/api/v1/{op} with a JSON body.
  • MCP: https://getwabi.dev/api/mcp, one tool per op, for Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, ChatGPT and other clients.
  • CLI: npx @meterapp/wabi, for terminals, scripts and CI.
  • Webhooks: signed events delivered to your HTTPS endpoints.
